The House Cat Method
3/23/2012 4:30:14 PMSylvester
Sometimes when I read threads that are supposedly helping someone fix an old radio I think of the house cat method of repair. That's the one where the schematic is placed in front of the kitty, the kitty touches the diagram with it's paw and that is the part to be changed.

My cats usually sit on the schematic. How do I find the bad part from that.

Mine either lays down and wants to be petted or just goes to sleep.

Don't have cats, and hang my schemas up in front of me at the bench, so only flying insects at nite are attracted. I've ruined many nicely printed diagrams with a fly swatter, but never fixed a radio that way.

My cat makes and sells cat nip wine to the local area cats. He is not sure what a schematic is, but perhaps???

My wife's cat is too lazy to touch a schematic, but she'll chase a pen or a pencil. Maybe I'll try tying a pencil to her tail and spreading schematics on the floor.

No cats here. Have a little parakeet. Just put the schematic in the bottom of his cage. He will spot the defective components almost right away.

My cat doesn't do anything but my dog hands me my tools.
