The radio is now working perfectly on Broadcast Band. Push buttons do not come into play when this option taken. Also there is no short wave. I am having trouble identifying the short wave antenna path to the 7H7 grid and any help appreciated. A as installed chassis plan would be just great but can't seem to find one among my Bietmsns etc.
Thanks
Frank
Radio has no back fitted so my chassis research came out all wrong. I now think the radio is a 6S532
:
Same troubles as before though.
Thanks. Frank
Both numbers are correct. 6A05R is a chassis number. 6S532 is the radio model number.
In most radios broadcast and short wave uses the same circuits. In some cases the oscillator may not operate at higher short wave frequencies. Check the circuit around the oscillator tube. Try another tube.
There won't be a lot on short wave. Time of the day or night will make a difference in short wave reception.

I am not familiar with the 'wave magnet' mentioned on the schemaatic. Is this some additional item that is connected externally????????? Would appreciate a descriptive of the antenna to grid portions of the schematic if possible, This one has me baffled!!!1

I am restoring a Philco model 40 185, schematic posted here at NA. The wave magnet antenna is necessary to properly receive stations. It is a loop type coil antenna that is tuned to the radio for BC and SW.
Yours may not be like mine but i have posted this photo of the one that is now outside of my radio. It is important to make sure the connections are right as it will not receive stations very well.
I have not got that far on this radio yet as i will have to figure out the right connections when i am ready.
Many thanks. Now I understand
Thanks. Frank
