true tone electrolytic condenser

I have a True Tone model D-725 or so it is stamped. I pulled the Ryders and it shows a 7 tube set, mine is a 6 tube set. The electrolytic condenser says P-950 and there are no markings to tell me what any values such as mfd or voltage might be. Can anyone help?

Jake,

It looks like you have the later model D725 Western Auto via Truetone.

You can identify the earlier model by it having a seperate filter choke.

On the earlier models the filter capacitors were 8 MFD @ 450 VDC, on the later models the filter capacitors were 14 MFD rated at between 450 and 500 VDC.

I have the earlier version information but there is a change note as to this capacitor change. Also the parts list shows the earlier and later version filter capacitor changes in value.

The information is here at NA under resources via Truetone.

If your radio is transformer operated, and has a field coil. You would be safe to use two 22MFD @ 450VDC capacitors. If there happens to be a cathode bypass capacitor on the output tube. 20 MFD @ 25 VDC.
