Westinghouse WR-10A (aka. RCA R-7A) Speaker & output transformer.

Hello All,
I have had this radio for 35 years and I'm finally restoring the chassis. The speaker with attached output transformer is missing. I also have an unrestored R-7. The output transformer is different because the output tubes are different, but will it work just to test the R-7A chassis?

Thanks,

Dave

I would think that if the output transformer is just there for plate to voice coil matching, then you should have no trouble at all. Does plate current run thru the transformer primary? You may have to make sure of ratings ( current ) thats all.

Lou,
According to the schematic, the measured resistance of the primary of the correct OP transformer is 600 ohms, and the one I can "borrow" from my junker R-7A is 300 ohms.
I might just try it even though it might overload the voice coil. I am pretty sure Edd or Norm will know the answer.
I just have two capacitors to go and I'll be ready to test it out.

Thanks,

Dave

Hello Again All,
This radio is in a Columaire Jr. Cabinet with a clock in it. It looks like the WR-12, but there's a clock on it. I can't find a picture of this radio anywhere. How rare is it?

Thanks,

Dave
