HI, I JUST REPLACED SOME CAP'S IN A BENDEX RADIO MODEL 753M AND IT WORK'S BUT THE VOLUME FADE'S IN & OUT . COULD YOU PLEASE GIVE ME SOME INPUT ON WHAT IT MIGHT BE? I'M JUST A BEGINNER SO I WOULD APPRECIATE ALL THE INFO. YOU COULD PROVIDE ME. THANK'S

Replace all wax and paper capacitors. Clean volume control. Clean tube socket pins. If this fading has any snap and crackle to it, it may be the beginning of the silver migration problem with the capacitors across the IF coils.

Ray, your symptoms here suggest a problem with an AGC (automatic gain control) circuit if it has one. Take a look at the schematic and see. I'll look up the schematic and see if I can better pinpoint the problem.

: RAY,
:Ray, I see by the schematic the radio has an AVC (automatic volume control) circuit. It is labeled AVC just below the 12BA6 tube. Check the components related to that tube as well as the voltages as the radio operates. A high plate voltage would suggest a weak 12BA6. Check R3,R4, and make sure R5 is not just dirty or possibly broken. Be careful, this radio is not well isolated from dangerous line voltage.
