black tubular caps

Can anyone help me identify a type of black tubular capacitor I keep seeing in '40s an 50s receivers? They are about an inch and a half long, and about one half inch in diameter. They appear to be of some plastic material. It's the markings that throw me: I have not been able to find description or a code table anywhere. I have a set with six of these all marked the same: four thin bands close together...orange-orange-orange-violet(or brown-hard to tell); plus a fifth band spaced a bit further away from the other four: blue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi JIm

These capacitors use standard resistor color code. They are usually leaky. If voltage is 1000 or greater there will be two bands. 1600 volts will be brown, blue.

Your capacitor may be 33000pf or .033mfd @ 1600 volts but that seems high voltage for a radio.
