Who oiled the radio??
1/5/2012 8:01:36 PMBob
Rider 9-43 model 62-361 After removing a well oiled C-5 my voltage on the 6a8 tube pin 6 returned to normal(155v). C-5 is a "2-15 mmf adjustable condenser", fell apart. What can be used in its place or what would be a # for a new part?

Hi Bob,
You may be able to pull one from a scrap chassis, perhaps even from an IF can.
I looked on AES and they have one that would work electrically, but it costs $18 is big and is way too fancy for an adjustment.

Best regards,

Bill

Bob,

You probably could use a mini ceramic trimmer capacitor to replace the original one. May need to add leads to the trimmer and bridge across to the terminals of the original. Make sure there is not anything left of the old one between it's terminals. Places like Mouser Electronics and other places have the trimmers.

Full alignment procedure is in the service information. Start at the 2nd IF .
