My 1181 functions well except for this: the dial pointer and the yellow plastic station indicator now move together. It seems that the proper function would be to have the needle move and the plastic background should stay stationary. Can anyone tell me the fix for this?

The dial scale moves and the indicator stays in the middle.

If you slide the chassis out I am sure you will see the problem. Should be an easy repair.
