I have a Hoffman model A-200 that works/plays fine, with one exception: The output is good over all the frequency range until I tune down to approximately 590KC -- it then starts to squeal and motorboat. When I turn the tuner up past 600KC the squeal stops and is fine throughout the broadcast range until I again go below ~590KC. I cannot see any problem with the tuning capacitor and have spray cleaned it, but the problem persists. Any suggestions? THANKS!

That sounds like your radio is out of alignment. Does the pointer agree with the station numbers? Tracking off? Follow the RF and IF alignment instructions.

Warren -- thanks for the follow-up. Yes, the pointer does track with the station numbers; however, I'll check / redo the alignment as you suggest.
