I need to replace the volume control on this little RCA phonograph. It has two taps. How can I wire in a new pot? I have a 1 Meg pot and several fixed resistors to use. The pot that's in it measures about 1.5 Meg. Don't have the diagram. It is in Sams 173-11.

The taps are probably for tone equalization at lower volumes. If all else fails, you can install a standard audio taper pot without the wiring going to the taps and be happy with the results.
