Hi, can anybody explain how to attach a picture or two to this site. Thanks, George.

You do need a host such as photobucket. This link shows how to post using the BBCode.

As Warren says, first upload your image to a hosting site, then highlight and copy the URL address of your photo and enter it into your posting on this site as shown below...............

Photobucket is free for pictures. You do have to register with a good E-Mail account.

The answer is right on the bottom line of the patent plate. You have a Detrola.

It says "Made in U.S.A. by D. R. CO. Detroit.

The model number is the one you found rubber stamped on the rear of the chassis, 116. This should be from 1936.

Forgot to mention that there is no way of knowing what brand name the radio was sold under once that little name tag from the front goes missing. At that time Detrola was building sets under dozens of different private brand names for retailers, as well as selling radios with their own name on them.

I have the identical cabinet, with a different chassis in it (probably a 104) that doesn't have the red and white dial.

Thank You So Much Melrose, That is the one. Can't find any pics of it but the tube layout is the same. I thought it looked alot like the 104. Well I guess I'll add this one to my growing stack of future projects, at least it works. Thanks Again, George T

Post the tube lineup of your mystery radio. That may help one identify it or narrow down the search some.
