Majestic 130a

I have a 130-A and am hell bent on getting it working again. Its problems: bad power and speaker output transformers, also bad speaker field coil. I know what sort of power transformer I will need. Schematics for this radio are not much help. They give part numbers, but not specifications for parts. What type of output tranformer am I going to need, and where could I find one? I would like to mount new transformers inside of old cans and refill with tar. Can anyone tell me the specs of the speaker output transformer, feild coil, and the input push pull transformers?
Thanks
Ryan

I admire your determination. I run from these Majestics with potted components.

This not a typical speaker setup with the field in parallel with the power supply. Assuming 250V at 0.035A that would be about 7000 ohms as opposed to a 1000 ohms for a series field setup. Looks like a good candidate for a permanent magnet speaker.

For audio output xformer, tube manual says 3900 ohms load resistance (impedance) for a 45 tube at 250V plate voltage. For your push-pull 45 setup, look for 8K primary impedance with a center tap with 5 watt rating. Radiodaze.com or oldradioparts.com should have a suitable replacemnet. The impedance is not that critical. The speaker impedance is likely 2 to 4 ohms.

Thanks, that helps. This is the most involved radio project from me. Had to replace the tunning condenser do to pot metal cracking.

A few months back I restored a Majestic 20....NOW THAT IS A PROJECT.. Majestic was light years behind its competators....Good luck on your project...I don't think I will be working on any Majestic radios again... ha ha

I also have a 130A that I am working on for my brother.
It is a victim of hurricane Katrina.
I relaced the Caps for the power supply and ohm out coils, power transformer, etc and all seemed
ok until I checked the speaker. The field coil is open.
I tried to take apart and repair but it
was rusted and corroded and the core will not come out.
I guess I will either try to find a speaker
or see if I can wind a coil.
The speaker is a G5 and the manual I have for the 130A list
the field coil at 7650 ohms.
The Voice coil Impedance at 15ohms.

I have a Majestic 55 for parts. What do you need? I have the three matching knobs. I have not taken it out of its shouldered cabinet yet? It is very heavy.
