Does anyone have a philco model 80 that can tell me where this wire goes. It does not show up on the schematic. Pic is of the oscillator coil.

Sir Dave . . . . .
Your fotie-graf didn't let us see ALL of thet thar " war". . . . . . but you should be able to account for the end connection point of the other black wire connected to that same terminal. (K of the #36 )
My suspicions on that particular chassis, that is routed down, spiral wrapped, and serving in the function of an added " gimmick capacitor" wire.
The idea of there possibly being a deficiency of local oscillator injection level into the mixer stage and that extra capacitance is raising the RF level up to a more optimal level.
Its one termination (as per your pics arrow) being at the # 8 coil is the source of the local osc R.F. level and its other twisted portion, acting to acquire the correct amount of capacitance, is injecting local osc RF into that primary of transformer #2 via proximity of being wrapping around its connecting wire.
That primary input . . . . versus over at the secondary winding . . . is chosen in order to have the proper phase relationship . . . .(additive / in phase) . . . of that RF injection level.
Here is a photo to be able to replicate from:
