I have Chuck Schwark sending me what he has on the Philco 40-190 but there appears to be no schematic showing the "Run 4" that had the 6J8 instead of the 7J7. Does anyone have any paperwork showing a 40-180 thru 40-190 that has the 6J8 on it instead of the 7J7?

The Philco 40-165 uses a 6J8G tube as the det/osc tube. The frontend up to the 2nd detector looks very similar to the 40-190 that uses the 7J7 tube. That schematic may be close enough for repairs.
