Dial lamp question
9/3/2011 5:44:34 PMMitch
Hello everyone,

I have a box of EiCO dial lamp bulbs number 1490 that i bought awhile back and did not write the number that it was for in the radio, ie #45, #47 ?

The specifications are 3.2 volts and 0.16 watts.

Can anyone tell me which #'s this bulb would replace in the dial lamps?

I want to use this lamp in a Firestone model A420 which has a center tap in the filament for the dial lamp, will this work without any damage to the filament circuit?

Thanks,
Mitch

Mitch,

The 1490 was a bit of a speciality bulb as I recall Zenith (maybe others) used them so they could put 2 bulbs in series on the 35Z5 rectifier's filament tap, rather than using a single 6 volt .15A lamp.
