MANY THANKS FRANK
Thanks Carl
The speaker I removed is a magnetic type but it has a 3 wire connection with a choke fitted to it. I have obtained a period magnetic only replacement and wonder if I should remove the old choke on the speaker and fix to the replacement:or just subsitute a resistor in place when I fit the new speaker. In either event I am unsure what wire goes where should I use the resistor

Yup! It is an output transformer for the push pull. Got it figered out now, many thanks to you all
Frank
:This model Sparton does have a 3 wire Audio Output transformer for the push pull duel output tubes. It may look like a choke, but it's not. Remove the Transformer from the old speaker. Mount it to the new speaker frame. Connect the wires as was with the old speaker.
