Hello all. Can 6D6 or #58 tubes be substituted for #78's , or could this cause problems??This is for a Philco 39.

6D6 and 78 are both 6.3 volt filament... but the 58 is 2.5v

6D6 can be subsituted for a #78 but is a little taller and may require a shield.

As Peter said #58 is a 2.5 volt filament tube. Other than that same as 6D6 and similer to 78.
