I have a Motorola mod 5A9M listed here, i need to change out the Selenium rectifer, what is my best replacement option?

Some folks like to leave the selenium alone, unless it's dead. I like to change them.

It is dead, I will use a 1N4005. There is a series resistor in the circuit to the filter cap, I will make sure it is adaquate.
