What is this (Zenith Model A2A)???

I don't know what I have. It looks like an antique walkman. Its about the size of a check book, appears to be very old, and has a tether with two battery connectors like found on battery sets. Does anyone know what I have, where I can find a schematic, and what it might be worth. I've never seen anything like this. Thanks, Joe Miller

Hi Joe

I will make a guess - early hearing aid? Let's see what others think.

Hi,
Norm is probably right that it is a hearing aid. If it looks like you can open it, try to gently open it to identify if it might actually be one of the early transistor aids. If it is one of the first, it most likely has a CK718 transistor (s). Ultimately, you can date the unit from the transistor number/color.
If there are only two wires with the snap ends, it probably took a mercury cell of 6,9, or 22 volts.(I have had some portable radios that had snaps, and others- plugs)

You might want to check out

They might be able to give you an idea of potential valuation better than I could.

Thanks guys, you were right. What I have is an early tube type hearing aid. I am going to try and find a schematic for it and put it back in working order...Thanks again, Joe
