Airline 1926? "Roamer"
10/25/2001 9:53:08 PMRobert
I recently acquired an old Airline "Roamer" model, uses 5 O1A's I think, which was apparently built in 1926. This appears to be the same or very similar to the Pfanstiel Model 8 sold in 1925. Neither of these radios are in Riders. Does anyone know where I can get any information such as a schematic, tube types, battery voltages, etc. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Robert

Most of these battery radios aren't in Rider. Try Atwater Kent, Model 20 or Stewart Warner 300 series schematics. These are in Rider and on nostalgiaair.

Original tube types would be globe versions of 01A. (UX201A, CX301A) Airline did have tubes marked with their name. Batteries would be 6 volt storage brought down to 5 by rheostats in your radio. "B" batteries are multiple of 22 1/2, usually 22 1/2 - 45 for detector and 67 1/2 - 90 for the rest of the circuit. The radio may require a - 4 1/2 volt "C" battery.

I also have the same receiver and having difficulty in finding schematic. Please help me if you or any one else got more information on this radio and schematic. Thank you
