i bought this radio at an auction for ten dollars.no name on it anywhere.the tube line up is:80,42,6h6,6f5,6a7,and6d6[78].the speaker has a name on it;operadio.three bands;a.m.,foreign,and police.you guys have worked magic on these before and you will have to do it for me again.need schematic.thanks

Hi Doug,
There are a lot of radios out there with similar tube line ups, so that doesn't give us enough to go on. That is the bad news.
The good news is that you can use many schematics to guide you on this. There were only just a few ways to make a radio back then. Zenith 6S229 comes to mind. It has a 5Y3G for the 80, 6F6 for the 42, 6K7G for the 6D6 and 6A8G for the 6A7. Those tubes are identical except for different basing.

In respect of your unit being a three band unit, along with it using the mentioned tubes given.


How's about seeing if the Allied Radio / Knight or Continental radio Z2 chassis will be close enough to work with, in your using of that units schematic.
