Looking for a schematic for an RCA7-ey 1DJ
This is A 2 tube unit (50L6GT & 35W4)
Chassis #:RS155CVRG274710
Also wondering if this has a 3 volt cartridge.
Thank You

I will scan the Sams and email it to you.

The original cartridge was one of those salt crystal ones. It's probably bad by now. It did have an output of near 3 volts. You can use a newer ceramic type cartridge that will fit the tone arm. I am sending you a little preamp circuit that you can make easy.

I get the cartridge going bad, but The unit has 2 tubes
so I thought it may have a lesser voltage.

I've been sent a couple of Sams but they are for 1 tube
units.
Is there a way to look up a sam by the chassis number?

Chassis Number is RS155CRVG274710.

Could you use the preamps that are for connecting magnetic cartridge turntable to a line input on the newer recievers.

Thank You for all the info.

Your set having two tubes the 35W4 is only a rectifier. The 50L6 is a single tube amplifier.

Thank you,
the only way to find out is to ask.

this unit's schematic shows a 25L6GT tube,but I don't see the 35w4 rectifier tube, only a silenium rectifier
would they have replaced one with the other during the model run?

There is no Sams for the set like yours. Your set was probably an early run. It would be cheaper to use a diode in place of the rectifier tube. The sets with the diode are nearly identical. Very simple amplifier.

Found a website that has sams but they are in a djvu format.
here is the web address:techpreservation.dyndns.org/schematics/rca.htm.

You can get a plugin by typing what is a djvu file,
there's a plug in for your browser, you need to be online to view and print.
Anyway I couldn't find anything in the 7-ey's to match my set.
I am trying to read all the components so I can replace the caps, but there's one wax cap that's in the corner with the values facing down, this is paper and wax, all I can read on it without taking it out is the number 735721174.
There are 3 caps including the multi with 3 leads.

Make your own simple drawing of where the capacitors connect. Take close up pictures if you can do that. This is such a simple amplifier, you really don't need the actual schematic.
