Need help finding a replacement on off/tone control switch. There is a well stocked electronic store near me. Does any one have any idea what the specks are? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Dustin

This switch was being discussed on ARF forums during the last month.

Here is a schematic. Take it with you to the parts store. Tone section is three positions.

This is really getting inventive. Old computer data switch box for switching printers. 4-position switch. A-B-C-D. You do have to make a shaft extension. You could eliminate position D by bending the bearing detent hump up where the bearing cannot ride over it.
Use only the front wafer for the tone control switching. Remove the two middle wafers. Use small nuts on the long screws to hold the first wafer in place for tone control. Leave the last wafer on the end. Nuts on the screws to keep it there. The trick is to now mount a micro leaf switch on the last wafer. The shaft is used as a cam. Has a flat spot. Position the switch where is brakes contact dropping the leaf to the flat spot. ( For Off ) Drill small holes through the last wafer as to where the switch works best. Screws and nuts keeping the switch there. Can be tweaked for proper make and brake by bending the leaf a little if needed. Micro switch used would be normally open. Hope you got all that. I did this only once.
