I am going to start to troubleshoot tomorrow. I'll have the time to really look at this.

When checking tube voltages as suggested, should I check from ground (chassis) or the center tap of the transformer to the tube pins where the voltage is labeled on the schematic? The schematic doesn't say. Since the center tap is most negative, I thought it might be proper. I tried to do this last night, but all the voltages were low from either point (tap or chassis). I want be be sure and I will try again and record them.

Also, would the B voltage begin at pin 8 on the 5w4 rectifier? I want to trace it also as Edd suggested to the cardahom.

One last question, on this schematic should the negative side of the 16mf electrolytic be tied to the center tap of the transformer, that's how I have it now, and it was that way on the previous repair and original (seems correct, but I need to make sure)?

Does this make sense to start troubleshooting?

Thanks,
Steve

The center tap is the most negative to connect the ground lead of the VTVM. Pin 8 is the start of the B+ voltage. C-21 (16 MFD) does connect to the center tap as shown in the schematic. Be sure you have 310 volts to begin with at the rectifier tube.
