GE Model 212 AM/FM Table radio

Working on the above. Trying to fix a previous hack job. Schematic does not list the original values of the electrolytics. The replacements that were installed are not marked.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Riders Vol. 18 - G.E. page 25 has the component values in a parts list.

The Nostalgia Air resources has that page:

Joe,

Upon closer inspection of the Riders pages I can see what you mean. I can find no specs for the 4 stage dry electrolytic C37. AT least not on the Riders pages.

Sams Photofacts also covers that model in Set 51 Folder 8.

Hi Joe

Use 25 mf @ 25 volts for C37A. Use 47 mf @ 160 volts for C37B, C and D. These values will work even if not exactly the same.

Joe....something strange going on here.

More digging shows that GE apparently had two radios labeled model 212.

One was produced in 1947/48. It is covered in Riders Vol. 18 Page GE 25.

The other was produced in 1962. It is covered by Sams Set 51 folder 8.

Don't know why they would do such a thing. Just causes confusion.

Dennis,

Wouldn't Photofact #51 put the date around the year 1948?

Clifton

Clifton,

I checked the Sams Date Index and Folder 51 was published in December of 1960.

I'm posting the handy chart below as it has been very useful to me on occasion. I hope it posts large enough so that it is readable.....if not, I'll try to post a larger image.

Dennis,

I think I understand now. You were referring to volume 51 and not set 51. OK, thanks.
