Hi John

Probably not bad. Some radio power transformers are hot in operation.

The circuit may be drawing too much current causing a transformer to get hotter than normal. Have caps been replaced in your Magnavox?

Norm;
Thanks. There is a four section electrolytic and two sections have been jumped out at one time quite some time ago looks like to me. There is some hum with the volume control all the way down so will try to replace the filter and see if that helps.
Thanks,
John

John

Sometimes filter caps will be jumped out without originals being disconnected. This will cause a problem if there is leakage. Aways disconnect replaced parts.
