hi all
i was given an old farm radio a few days ago. it has no name plate on it. have no idea what make or model it is. ive uploaded some pics here. http://s1132.photobucket.com/albums/m567/ajc31980/
it has the following tubes.. 38,34,ic6,1b5/25s. was told it maybe a Simplex or a Zephyr model DF. but i dont want to start any thing till im sure. ive never worked on a radio like this one. there is a red tag on the back .. licensed under patents of general electric company , Radio corporation of America , westinghouse electric & mfg co. and associated companies , only for radio amateur experimental and broadcast reception . the chassis has c? del df( p?) k and 777221 stamped on it. i would be thank for any info that any one can give me. it also is missing the vibrator. so i have to figure out what one it takes as well.

Sir AJ. . . . .
Try these on for size . . . and see if there is a fit . . . some of these have similar serial numbers.

The yellow highlighted ones seem to be in accordance with your serial and DF aspects.

The escutcheon of your radio does look like a Simplex. It is upside down. The Simplex name would have been on the bottom of the escutcheon.

This is A Simplex AC model. You can see the dial and escutcheon is why I would lean towards being A Simplex

How many pins does the vibrator socket have ? And is this a six volt radio ?

:How many pins does the vibrator socket have ? And is this a six volt radio ?
:
it has 4 pins. Im going guess that its a 6 volt . i don't know if u saw it in the pics but it has a ballast resistor. i was told that its to drop it down from 32 volts to 6 volts. so with out that ballast resistor in there it would be a 6 volt ?

:correction... it has 5 pins. sorry it been a long day..

I see this is a 6 or 32 volt radio. The 5 pin vibrator is most likely a 6 volt synchronous type. This link does show a pin base.
http://www.radiosforoldcars.com/vibratorsbases.htm
If you look at this 6 volt farm radio, it shows the typical connections to the transformer.

With these two links you should be able to figure out the vibrator for your radio.
