Has anyone rebuilt the electroyltic's in a old Fada 60 unit? Looks like they are filled with Bee's wax, but haven't dug too deep yet, just wondering if there is tar below the bee's wax. Also going to try rebuild the white metal frame for the tuning unit out of aluminum, any suggestions there? What source of wire does one use to replace the cotton covered solid without breaking the bank.
thanks Martin...................

Good luck... The can is simmular to a 1928 Mongomery Wards Airline I recently restored.. In side all that bees wax is book capacitors...I used a heat gun to slowly melt all the wax...I let it drip off the book capacitors and was able to see how it was all hooked up...Also I used moderday wire...To take the shiny coating off the wire I used light sand paper..The light sanding of plastic coating makes it look old....
