Just started on this console unit. Diconnected the console speaker from chassis and removed chassis from cabinet. Looking at the schematic I see no referance to the field coil. However the speaker coil is labeled L-14 and there is a coil labeled L-9 in the negative grid voltage circut that I wounder if this is the field coil? If so it is not going to work with out the field coil!

Any body have any info on this?

That is what I suspected!

Thanks a lot for the confirmation. Now I will have to take the speaker out of the console and connect it to radio. Maybe then something might work!
