I posted this on the "delete my images" post..no response. The galaxie Fm radio..the IF cans were poured with wax and all is corroded inside. They are dead. What size caps and resistors could I use in place of the cans? Would 22-26 ohm resistors and .0005 caps work to bypass them? Any ideas? What formula could be used to figure it...Edd? ;)

Looking at the pictures of your Galaxy radio the IF transformers look to be the duel type for AM & FM operation. If they are all as you say, I don't think there is anyway to by-pass all that. Only thing I can think of is a parts radio of the same vintage. Grundig Tellefunken or some other European set with PC mounted transformers.
