Thanks,

These can be fiercely difficult for the beginner with numerous discrete directly coupled transistors. A failed transistor will ripple through the amplifier chain.
Would first try to isolate the board(s) drawing heavy current by removing them from the circuit. Then check for shorted or open pn junctions especially power transistors. Richard

::Hello All,
:: I did get the regulator board all repaired and it was working fine. Then I decided to put the covers back on. Somehow, wire on pin number 6 on the regulator board popped off and touched something. Now the fuse on the fuse board that runs from pin 3 to 14 on that board opens up whenever it's in place and I turn on the power. It glows quite brightly before opening. So it's somewhat more than 3 amps. But that's the only fuse I will put in that holder. I have a bunch of them.
:: Where do I look for what's drawing all that current? What are some possible suspects? I have a feeling that when that wire touched the bottom of the case, it damaged something. But what? Does anyone have just this part of the schematic? I have the schematic for the regulator board.
