AK Model E Speaker ~ Coil Question
2/16/2011 12:09:44 AMGeorge T
Hi All, Well I've checked out the AK 40 radio and everything looked good. Check the Ohms on the speaker and there was none (open line). I guess that means the coil is bad. Tried the battery test and nothing. Does anybody know how I can hook up a new style speaker to verify the speaker is bad or know how to fix the coil. Thank You, George.

Use an audio output transformer from an AA5 radio and PM speaker. Connect primary to speaker terminals.

Here is a link for Atwater Kent service information. It does cover the E type speaker.
