I just finished rebuilding a 697 it uses a 4.5 volt battery, but you can purchase a three AA cell battery holder that will replace the original cell nicely. As far as leads it uses standard pin style leads. here is a link to a site with Weston schematics.

I am trying to find this company. Is it still in business or has it changes hands. We are looking for a meter but have very little information to go with. I would appreciate any help you may provide--JB
