I found the perfect paint match for old eico test equipment. Its testors pontiac engine blue.

I have three vintage EICO testing devices: 147A Signal Tracer, 314 Signal Generator, and 950 R/C Comparator Bridge. All three are painted with a gray, hammertone finish - not blue, not even a blue tint.

EICO made both colors. I have a model 625 tube tester 320 and 360 sig gens, all blue.

Thanks, Marty, that's good information. I wonder if EICO switched colors at a definite point in time? Maybe the "battleship gray" didn't have enough marketing pizazz? Do your blue devices have a hammertone finish (like my gray ones)?

Sirs . . . . .

My 60's Vintage Eicos are using a very fine detail, textured grey crackle finish.

maybe the Blues were just units maybe 5 on up to possibly 10 years prior to that time frame .

As pics of some units, seem to be having such pilot lamp jewels and knobs that seem to be dating then like that.

And that Hammertone blue shown, additionally reminds me of one available from the Illinois Brass and Bronze spray paint in the large 3 X 9 inch cans.

Possibly . . . is that mentioned suppliers can, being one of the frugally small sized ones, like Duplicolor, auto touch up paints is offering ?
