Tube tester adapter schematic for making a 9pin minature to a octal socket calls for connection from pin 9 of minature to (side cap) of octal. Does this mean to tie it to top cap lead of tester?

Octal is 8 pin. makes sense the 9th pin goes to tube grid cap. In some tube testers the tube cap has two connections. One marked (G) for grid. The other marked (P) for plate.

Usually, the top connection is the grid cap - thankfully, since having B+ exposed on top wouldn't be good. The connector could be insulated, but most grid caps are bare.

My thought is to mount a grid cap on the side of the adapter. Shouldn't be a shock hazard. Correct thinking?
