Question to Warren about C1N chassis
1/1/2011 10:25:27 PMDaniel M.
Dear Warren I measured the voltage on pin 7 of the 12AV6 det and there was no voltage. The 470K ohm resistor appears to be open. The resistor I want to install between pin 7 of the 12AV6 and pin 6 of the 50C5, should this be a 1/2 watt or larger? I again thank evryone for their help on these vintage radio projects. I am learning so much from the great people on here.

Just a 1/2 watt 470K resistor will do. Your radio will work good again. But after an hour or so of playing, I bet it will start to crackle pop and static. This is that silver mica migration problem. See this link how to rebuild your IF transformers. Scroll about 3/4 down the page. ( Leakage of current from primary secondary LC circuits in IF transformers )
