Kennedy Model 32

Does anyone have Kennedy Model 32 radio? (or pictures of one) I bought one today however the descriptions I have found say it was a radio/phono and this one is strictly a radio. It does have a phono input. I am now wondering if the cabinet is original (it is a nice cabinet and the radio fits it well).

Jim,

Thanks, checked there, no picture. None at radiomuseum.org either.

Hello Richard,
found this doing an image search for your radio.

That has the same knobs and the same escutcheon, however the cabinet is not even remotely close to mine.

Mine looks like they took a left over 20's battery lowboy and put the 32 in it. It fits nicely and looks great, but does not look like a 1931ish cabinet. The only reference to the 32 Chassis I can find in a source I trust is for a model 532. I seem to recall that the last 2 digits of the later Kennedy's were the chassis and the first digit the cabinet, with higher numbers being higher end cabinets.

Given that Kennedy folded in the early 30's I wonder if near the end they were slapping the chassis in any case they had handy? It sure does not sound like the detail oriented Kennedy company though. Perhaps someone later swapped it out. I am now going through books looking to identify the cabinet, on the off chance it was something common. I will post pictures later today (I have yet to unload from yesterdays treasure hunt).
