I'm afraid that to try and advise you without knowing at what level of electronics expertise you might be at would be fruitless.

I would strongly advise that you familiarize yourself with basic radio theory and electronics theory.

An excellent way to get started is to purchase this book and thoroughly read and study it.

Regards, Dennis

Before doing any adjustments. Need to find out why it's not working. Have you checked any of the B+ ? There are a lot of reasons why you do not get any stations. Be more descriptive in your next post. For now you should take a few voltage readings, and check continuity of coils and transformers.

The schematic is showing the switch in the AM broadcast position. Follow the contact points in the switch as shown to antenna coils and oscillator. Middle position is police band, no longer used. Clean the switch real good. Check antenna and oscillator coils for continuity. It does need a loop antenna for AM band reception.

I believe on your radio, the push buttons are mechanical adjustment for the tuner. You would loosen the screw on one push button, manually tune in a station. Then tighten the screw for that preset. This preselect is for any band selected. There is no electronic adjustments at all there. Do you know if the oscillator is working ?

:i have been playing with my s.gen. and now have one faint sta. at the lower band .no s.gen pick up at higher band
