silvertone 6220
9/5/2001 12:24:16 PMDanny
I just purchased a silvertone 6220 in the orginal Sears and Roebuck box, although the radio has been used lightly. The problem is the power supply. The unit has four wires and a four pin connector coming out of the chassis. I do not know if the is a battery connector or is this unit missing a transformer. I could not read the fine print on the wiring schematics. The other radio collectors in my area believes it to be a battery model. If so what is the voltage reguirements for the four colored wires. Thanks for any information.

Hi Danny

Your radio uses 1 1/2 volt & 90 volt battery. For 1 1/2 volts a flashlight battery will work. 10 - 9 volt transistor radio batteries can be used for 90.

A power supply can be built to save battery expense.

The following schematic calls out battery connections.
