Hook up power to a Philco 40-74

Saturday I pick up a Philco 40-74. today i check it out, the tubes are ok. I hook up power to it. I use 10 9volt batteries for the two 45 volts batteries. For the 1 1/2 volt battery I use a "D" size battery. Hook up the batteries and got noning, no power. Was I using the wrong size battery for the 1 1/2 battery? I check with Nostalgia Air's schematic for the radio. The schematic was not too clear. It look like white wire on + side of one of the 45 battery and yellow(?) wire for - size of the other one. In the schematic under the the batteries is something wrote which is unreadable. Any information you can post will be helpful. Thank you.

White connects to the positive side of the 90 volt battery, and connects to the part of the on-off switch that connects to the B+ line, which should connect to the output transformer at some point.

Yellow connects to a 2.2Meg resistor that goes to the control grid of the 1A6G, and also to a 270 ohm resistor that goes to the chassis.

The A battery should have its negative side connected to the chassis.

Check all voltages, and, in a dark room, observe that all of the filaments are glowing.

....Should have also said that yellow connects to the negative side of the 90 volt battery.
