AM broadcast system

I am looking for a low power AM broadcanst device (can be a single bandwidth, that I can use to drive my old radios. source of signals would be FM radio or IPOD etc. This way I could listen to several old AM radios I have spread around house. 100' range would fit the need. Any ideas? Thanks, Dave G.

You can buy several on the internet, make a L'il 6 (should be easy to find plans) or use an aM signal generator's EXT MOD jack. This discussion pops up every so often, you might find some plans in the past months right here.

What I would like to do is have the radio /ipod source drive the AM broadcast and the then have the old radio pick up signal. Had tried this forum on search and ditto internet, but must not have had the right discription. Thanks for you help will search a little harder/smarter.

I have been using this SSTRAN low power transmitter for a few years. I am very happy with the it, and use mine just like you are describing.

Both the SSTRAND and Talking House have received good reviews. There are some good threads about these at ARF. One of their forums is about building your own tube transmitter, and one member offers a kit.
I use the, (ultra-cheap) AES K-488. It works fine since I only have to broadcast a few feet, (from the bedroom to the living room). I use the earphone output of a portable radio to feed my FM station to the AM transmitter.
