Reading resistance across the ac line cord

Hi, I was just wondering if when restoring an AA5 tube radio we do a resistance check across the ac line cord if this tells us anything useful about the chassis or is this procedure a waste of time?
Any ideas or advice I would be very greatful!!
Thank you for the input!!
Good day!!

A visual inspection of the cord is a must. Other than that reading across it would only tell you if you have an open with the switch turned on.

With the switch on and one lead on the chassis or B- it should give you the total resistance of the filaments. It's a good way to quickly check the heater string.
