I would like to purchase some caps to have available and would like to get some ideas as to more frequently used caps. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jerry,
First it would more or less depend on what type of radio you intend to be working. If working on old (1920s)battery radios, you really don't need to go much more than 1 or 2 mf (non-polar) tops. And most are a lot less than that. If you are working on the 30's ac sets, then 4,8 or 10 electrolytics are more the norm with a lot of .01,.05,1,2,3 non-polarized caps also. It really depends on what you intend to be working on most often. If you are working on later radios, (late 30's on), then the values go up even more as you are not working with a transformer radio.
Hope this helps till somebody more knowledgeable responds.
Bud
