11/21/2010 8:14:36 PMDaniel
Dear Warren, I used the advice you gave me and reworked the 1st IF Transformer, replaced the 470K ohm resistor and did an aligment on the radio. This radio plays very well now. I can tune in alotof stations and no more static. I just played this radio for about an hour and plays great. Thank you kindly for the help. I am glad there are places like this to go for help. Have a great day!!!

Glad to hear you repaired your radio. And yes, this is a great forum for tips, tricks, and knowledge of old time radio repair.

Be sure to rebuild the 2nd IF transformer too. Sometimes the 2nd IF has only one mica capacitor. You will see when it's taken apart. The 2nd IF is the one that took out that 470K resistor. If it shorts out now, it can take out the rectifier tube.

Thank you Warren, I will take the second IF transformer and do the same thing. Thank you again!!
