Schematics for early 50s Philco transitones
1/26/1999 3:35:13 PMEric Alexander
I am looking for a set of schematics for an early 50s transitone -- unfortunately, I do not know the chassis #, just the model -- 53-564.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. While I'm at it, what chassis was used in the Crosley D-25???

Thanks in advance!

Hi Eric

The Philco 53-564 schematic is in Sams Photofact #188-12 and the Crosley D25 is in #202-2. Sams can be obtained from local libraries or by calling them at 800-428-7267. Do you like 1953 radios? Both of these are from that year.

Norm,

Your response is MUCH appreciated! I'm somewhere between beginner and somewhat knowledgeable right now when it comes to radios. I've always been a fan of mid-20th century industrial design, and frankly fell in love with tube table topos after I stumbled across "Phil's Old Radios" about a year ago. I guess I have him to thank [curse?? :) ] for my newfound hobby.

And, while I am partial to postwar plastics, I actually DO own radios from other years...

Thanks once again,

Eric
