Some people use Tolex, Antique Electronic Supply carries it. You can search for Tolex on their site to see what they have available.

Is it just me or does this thread keep moving to the top without follow up posts?

I hadn't noticed this post before, so I don't know if it is 'bumping' itself or not. I will watch it.
I have found the faux-alligator grain fabric on Alan Jesperson's Great Northern Antiques. He has a lot of restoration items for old Zeniths.

I tried posting 2 follow-ups earlier, but they don't show up. Great Northern Antique Radios carries the "stag" material for TO's. See gn4radios.com. It takes about a square yard to cover a TO. For a guide on how to do it see: zenithtransoceanic.com and click on "restoration process" to see how a Y600 was redone. You'll want to carefully remove the old material to use a pattern for the new. You'll probably need to sand off the old adhesive to get a good clean surface before using the contact cement.
