Indicator Bulb causing reception problems when in circuit?
8/26/2001 11:07:58 PMBrian Hedberg
I am working on the "Kent" model made by Rogers De Forest Crosley and I have finished it and it works good but one small thing, when I screw in the tuning indicator bulb the stations just barely come in and they sound very funny almost like ghost harmonics. When I remove the bulb it works very well.. I do not understand why.. but if anyone would consider having a look or has any ideas why, the schem is here:

Just a guess but the current draw of your lamp may be too high. I have an old DFC Royal Star with a similar indicator and had trouble finding a bulb. I ended up rebasing a 12 volt miniature lamp from Radio Shack. I found the bulb ma was more important than the voltage and found I needed to be 25 ma or less.
