Rider 4-14, resistance bar with wire connections went bad, if each wire with the correct resistor is hooked to ground will this work or another bar needed??

Believe you are referring to a tapped wire wound resistor. Such as in a Philco 46-350. This is attached to the chassis for heat sink. You can use resistors but need to be of the proper wattage.
