Silverstone 7807 (113.414) Repair
11/7/2010 2:54:37 AMCMM
Hi, I am trying to restore a Silverstone 7807 (113.414) Repair. The radio is working now, however the original dial core was broken for the reset buttons. I don't know how to redo it. Does anyone have any idea how to connect these preset buttons or where I can find the dial cord stringing diagram of this radio? I include the pictures below

The preset mechanism looks like it just goes from the small pulley to the large pulley, like a car fan belt. The tensioner spring appears to be still hooked on.
A good dial stringing website is at: http://www.theoldradiofixerupperguy.com/dial%20cord.html
I don't see your model listed, but you may find a similar diagram.
The dial face plate may have to come off to get at the pulleys. Make a sketch of the tuning string for future reference as the string is probably dry-rotted and fragile. You may want to refresh it while you're in there.
Some of these diagrams can be a real 'cat's cradle'.

:P.S.- Model prefix '113' meant that the radio was manufactured by Mission-Bell of Los Angeles, CA for Sears. Try looking under Mission-Bell for a similar model or layout.
