Storage of Parts

I just bought a bunch of radio parts (tubes, pots, caps, etc..) I am running out of room and would like to store in the garage, but the temp there can be as high as 95 in summer and 0 in winter...will these temp extremes harm any of these parts? Thanks, Joe

Hi,
Some of the non-bakelite plastics may get deformed from the heat.
Crystal phonograph cartridges may get damaged from excessive heat.
Bakelite and metal tube bases may become unglued from the glass envelope on tubes.
Wet electrolytics may weep from temperature extremes. Usually not an issue if you plan to rebuild them rather than try to re-use them.

Otherwise resistors, hardware, bakelite, knobs, cabinets, chassis, transformers chokes, etc; should be fine. Wrap speakers in plastic just to be sure that you do not pick up any iron filings that might be around.

And be on the watch for mice.
